Overview

AI is often compared to the invention of fire, yet in the public domain it is discussed more like the launch of a new iPhone. Most coverage focuses on model releases, features, and benchmarks, while society is going through a historic transformation that touches nearly every aspect of life. The deeper questions about how AI reshapes society, organizations, and products do exist, but they’re scattered across technical papers, policy debates, and niche conversations.

This blog is an attempt to bring those threads together. It looks at how AI is actually being implemented in the real world and offers common-sense ways to think about what’s happening. A simple idea runs underneath it all: no matter how autonomous or agentic technology becomes, it is still shaped by human incentives, structures, and choices. By making the transition easier to follow and easier to question, the hope is to spark better conversations and, in small ways, influence how this moment unfolds.

I’m driven by two long-standing interests: innovation and social impact. On the innovation side, I’ve worked across large technology companies, including Amazon, as well as startup ecosystems, mentoring early-stage founders and building products to scale in the real world. On the social side, my background in international politics and work with mission-driven organizations shaped how I think about institutions, incentives, and socio-economic change.

AI is the first time these two threads fully converge. Its technical capabilities and its social consequences are inseparable. This blog draws on both sides of my experience to develop a structured way of thinking about how AI is being integrated into society, organizations, and products.
